Dries Van Noten

Interior Installations 2025

‍ ‍

A throwback to Dries Van Noten’s first standalone store, in the heart of New York City.

Nine pieces by Ben Storms live inside the space at 168 Mercer St. A Crushed Room Divider, gold gilded, closes it off just enough. Two Crushed Consoles stand side by side, white Carrara tops on polished stainless steel bases. Two Bronze Cast Marble wallpieces catch the light in mirror-polished bronze. A prototype of the Ex Hale coffee table appears here in Breccia Viola marble, and two cast glass wallpieces, 90 x 45 cm, one amber, one crystal clear, hang like glass that hasn't decided if it's liquid or solid.

Walking through, the space reads like theater: narrow, elongated, its walls staged like décor, the eye pulled from one piece to the next.

With thanks to the team at Objects With Narratives, to Pierre Yves Morel for the gold leaf work on the room divider, and to Tijs Vervecken for capturing it all.
