At first sight, the sense of weight prevails. A piece of natural stone - a block of marble that only reveals itself in a second movement as a cast aluminium representation - confirms gravity through its impact on a mirrored base.
Playing with perception, materiality and the interplay of light, this coffee table is above all a sculptural statement. An entity that blends contrasts, creating harmony through a captivating confrontation.
The basic form, which acts as a supporting column in shiny stainless steel, is created through a new technique that Ben has derived from his In Hale series. Sheets of material are welded together to form a provisional form that is then subjected to a process of high external pressure.
