Ben Storm’s designs engage, influence, and challenge each other in a continuous interaction. In this case, different paths converge and result in a sculptural Room Divider that conjoins the singularity of both steel and natural stone.
A structure shaped by sheer force, with capricious but evocative folds and dents, is on the one hand metallic and cool, on the other almost crystalline, with an intrinsic glow. Both materials carry eternity within them. The molten ores, the raw material of steel; the seeping water that slowly became a sediment, a hard stone. And then the form, which implies a momentary force that is still apparently present but has been decisively interrupted at a certain point in time.
